This explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We collect as little as we can to run the service well, we don't sell your data, and we don't share it with advertisers. Because this is an adult social platform, your profile inherently reflects sensitive information, and we treat all of it as sensitive.
Account info (email); the profile details you choose to share (name, age, photos and videos, city, bio, tags, preferences, optional social handles, optional health fields); messages and reactions you send; and usage data (taps, matches, profile views, activity timestamps). For couples, both partners' profile details.
To show people near you and your distance to them, we use an approximate, city-level location from your network connection. If you turn on precise location, we use it to improve accuracy, you can decline and still use the app. We store only a coarse, rounded location, not a trail of your movements.
To run the service: showing your profile to other members, creating matches, delivering messages and notifications, powering features you ask for (like "who viewed me"), keeping the community safe, and preventing abuse. We use aggregate, de-identified analytics to improve the product. We do not sell your personal data or share it with advertisers.
Only approved, logged-in members can see your profile, and when you tap or message someone, they can see it. Some features (like profile views) intentionally reveal that you viewed someone. Things kept private to you include your saved shortlist, your badges, and who you've passed or blocked. Your profile is never public on the open web or indexed by search engines, and your email is never shown to other members.
We share data only with providers who help us run the app, each handling it on our behalf: Supabase (database, authentication, and private photo/video storage), our hosting provider, Stripe (payments, we never store full card details), our email provider (account emails), privacy-respecting analytics, and an AI provider used during onboarding chat. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect members' safety.
If you enable notifications, we store a device token so we can deliver them. You can turn them off anytime in your device or app settings.
You can view and edit your profile anytime, turn on Ghost Mode to hide from the grid, control notifications, and delete your account from your profile page. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, or delete your data, email us to exercise them.
Delete your account anytime from your profile page. This permanently removes your profile, photos, taps, matches, and messages. Deletion is immediate and irreversible. Some limited records may be retained where required for legal, security, or anti-abuse reasons.
We protect your data with encryption in transit, access controls, and private storage for your photos and videos. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to limit who can access your information and to keep it safe.
ssslither is strictly for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18 and remove accounts we believe belong to minors.
We may update this policy as the product evolves. We'll revise the date above and, for material changes, give notice in the app.
