Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

This explains what ssslither LLC (“ssslither,” “we,” or “us”), a Nevada limited liability company, collects, why, and the choices you have. We collect as little as we can to run the service well. We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not use your content to train third-party AI models.

Because this is an adult social platform, almost everything on your profile is sensitive by nature, and we treat all of it that way.

Sensitive information, and your consent

Using ssslither necessarily reveals information about your sexual orientation. Beyond that, you may choose, entirely optionally, to add health details such as HIV status, STI testing dates, or PrEP use.

By creating a profile you consent to our processing of information about your sexual orientation for the purpose of operating the service. If you choose to fill in the optional health fields, you separately consent to us storing and displaying that information to the members you show your profile to. You never have to provide health information, you can remove it at any time, and the app works without it. Leaving those fields blank does not limit anything else.

We do not use sensitive information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than showing your profile as you configured it and keeping the community safe.

What we collect

  • · Account: email address, password (stored hashed, never in readable form), or your Google sign-in identifier if you use it.
  • · Profile: name or nickname, age, photos and videos, city, bio, tags, preferences, optional voice note, optional social handles, optional health fields. For couples, both partners' details on the shared profile.
  • · Content: messages, message requests, reactions, photos, videos, and voice notes you send, and private albums you create.
  • · Location: approximate, city-level location. See below.
  • · Usage: message requests, matches, profile views, activity timestamps, and aggregate feature usage.
  • · Technical: device and browser type, IP address, and error diagnostics, used for security, abuse prevention, and fixing bugs.
  • · Payments: if you subscribe, our payment processor handles your card. We receive only your subscription status and the last four digits, never full card details.

Location

To show people near you and your distance to them, we use an approximate, city-level location derived from your network connection. If you grant precise location, we use it to improve distance accuracy; you can decline and still use the app. We store a coarse, rounded location, not a history of your movements. Ghost Mode hides you from the grid and the map.

How we use it

To operate the service: showing your profile to members, delivering message requests and messages, sending notifications you have enabled, powering features you ask for, processing payments, keeping the community safe, preventing fraud and abuse, meeting legal obligations, and fixing problems. We use aggregate, de-identified analytics to improve the product. We do not make automated decisions about you that have legal effects.

Who can see what

Only approved, logged-in members can see your profile. When you send someone a message request, they can see your profile. Some features intentionally reveal activity, such as letting someone know you viewed them.

Kept private to you: your saved shortlist, who you have passed on, who you have blocked, your notification settings, and your billing details. Your email address is never shown to other members. Your profile is not public on the open web and is not indexed by search engines.

Couples share one profile with two separate logins. Anything on the shared profile is visible to both partners, including message requests and the conversations that open from them. Your partner cannot read a private one-to-one chat you have with someone else unless you bring them into it.

Your photos, videos, and voice notes

Where they live. Everything you upload is stored privately. It never has a public link and is never published on the open web. When you or someone you shared with views it, we mint a temporary link that expires within minutes.

What we can see. We want to be straight with you: ssslither is not end-to-end encrypted. Your media is protected in transit and at rest, but it is not locked in a way that makes it impossible for us to open. In practice we do not read your messages or browse your media, and access is restricted to a very small number of people, but we are not going to claim we technically cannot. If that matters to you, factor it in before you send something.

Disappearing media. When you set a photo, video, or voice note to disappear, or send it as a one-time view, we delete the file from our servers once the timer runs out or once it has been viewed. That is a real deletion, not just hiding it.

What we cannot control. We cannot stop someone from taking a screenshot, recording their screen, or photographing their device. Anything you send could be captured by the person receiving it. Every view carries a faint code identifying the viewer, so a leaked image can be traced back to one account, but the only content that cannot leak is content you do not send.

Safety scanning. We may automatically scan uploaded images and videos for known child sexual abuse material, and we review media that is reported to us. Where we detect or are notified of it, we will preserve the relevant records and report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and law enforcement, as the law requires. That is the one category we actively look for.

Who we share it with

We share data only with providers who process it on our behalf, under contract, to run the app:

  • · Supabase - database, authentication, and private media storage.
  • · Vercel - hosting and content delivery.
  • · Resend - account and service emails.
  • · Stripe - payment processing, once paid memberships are live.
  • · Sentry - error diagnostics.
  • · An AI provider - used only to help write your profile during onboarding, if you use that feature.

We may also disclose information if we are legally required to, or where we believe in good faith it is necessary to protect someone's safety or to investigate abuse. If ssslither is ever involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of that, and we will give notice in the app before it does.

Our providers are based in the United States, and your information is stored and processed there.

How long we keep it

We keep your profile and content while your account is open. When you delete your account we permanently remove your profile, photos, videos, voice notes, private albums, and messages, along with the media in the conversations you were part of.

Two honest caveats. Deleted files can persist for a short period in routine encrypted backups before those rotate out. And we may retain a minimal record, such as a terminated account's email or a moderation log, where we need it to enforce a ban, comply with the law, or respond to a legal claim.

Push notifications and local storage

If you enable notifications we store a device token so we can deliver them, and you can turn them off anytime in your device or app settings. We use cookies and similar local storage only for signing you in, keeping you signed in, and remembering preferences such as how many profiles you want per row. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Your rights and choices

You can view and edit your profile at any time, turn on Ghost Mode, control notifications, remove any optional field including health information, and delete your account from your account settings.

Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, receive a portable copy, withdraw consent to sensitive data processing, and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Email jordan@breatheheavy.com and we will respond within 45 days. We may need to verify your identity first, which usually means confirming control of your account email.

California residents: we collect the categories described above, including sensitive personal information, for the business purposes described above. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, including for anyone under 16. You have the right to know, delete, correct, and limit the use of sensitive personal information; we already limit it to operating the service.

Washington residents: health-related information you choose to enter is collected only with the separate consent described above, used only to display it as you configured, never sold, and deleted when you remove it or delete your account.

Security

We protect your data with encryption in transit, encryption at rest, private storage buckets that cannot be read without a short-lived signed link, access controls on every media request, and hashed passwords. No system is perfectly secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to limit who can access your information. If a breach affects your personal information we will notify you and any required regulator as the law requires.

Age

ssslither is strictly for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and we terminate accounts we believe belong to minors. If you believe a minor is using ssslither, email us immediately at jordan@breatheheavy.com.

Changes

We may update this policy as the product evolves. We will revise the date above and, for material changes, give notice in the app or by email before they take effect.
